Espanyol are a side in crisis at the moment, and according to striker
José Callejón they need to change their style of play and start picking
up points.
Speaking to Marca, the Spanish Under-21 international said that they need to recover their confidence, too.
"It is clear that we need to get points and to change the way we have been playing," he declared.
"Perhaps it is not so important in our tactics, but we need to regain some confidence and to put an end to the negative feelings.
"Each coach has his style and his way of playing, we expect not to lose too much time in taking on a new style."
The appointment of Mané this week has underlined the message that Espanyol need change, and whilst Callejón does not hold a grudge against the former coach, Bartolomé Márquez, for his lack of playing time, he says he will keep working to try to help.
"It is true that I did not play many minutes under Márquez, but one must bear in mind there is a lot of competition," he stressed
"My objective is to continue working and to try and help the team."
Callejón could well get opportunities with Raúl Tamudo now out for around two months, but he is not counting his chickens yet.
"Unfortunately a team-mate has been injured and that is important to us," he said.
"The coach will decide the replacement, but I work with the desire to start and to be able to play. I am ready if the coach needs me."
