The experienced midfielder has stressed that the Liga champions are high on confidence and has laughed off suggestions that the referee favoured Barca against Man City
The Catalans beat Manchester City 2-0 in the first leg of their round of 16 tie and Xavi has made it clear that the Blaugrana are brimming with confidence following their fine start to the knockout stages.
"Barcelona do not fear anyone," Xavi was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"That's not to say that we don't have respect for our rivals like Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid, who have all started strongly, too.
"But we are in great form, the people are happy and we’re enjoying ourselves. We’re feeling good. We’re top of the league, the Champions League game is on good course and we’re in the cup final."
The midfielder also briefly reflected on his side's win over City and dismissed suggestions that the officials favoured Barcelona in light of the furore surrounding the dismissal of Martin Demichelis for a professional foul on Lionel Messi.
"The controversy surrounding the referee can't overshadow the team's performance," the Spain international stated.
"We were the better team. The sending off was clear cut, we should have had a penalty that wasn't given and we also had a goal disallowed."
