Former players from Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid will meet a Barcelona Dream Team XI later this year to pay tribute to the club's former player and coach Johan Cruyff and mark the 40th anniversary of the Catalans' famous 5-0 win at Real Madrid.
The game will take place on November 14 and commemorates the 40th anniversary of Barca's 5-0 win in the capital, when Cruyff scored one of the goals and was instrumental as the Catalans ran riot at the Santiago Bernabeu.
That fixture was played 40 years ago on Monday (February 17), but the tribute will go ahead later this year and was announced in Sitges on Friday.
The event is being organised by the Fundació Veteranos Sitges (FVS) and all funds raised will go to the Johan Cruyff Foundation.
Barca's Dream Team XI will wear a replica of Cruyff's Netherlands shirt from the 1974 World Cup and the Blaugrana side will feature club legends Jose Ramon Alexanco and Jose Mari Bakero.
Alexanco and former Dream Team team-mate Eusebio (currently Barca B coach) attended the event in the coastal town on Friday.
The All-Star side will also feature former pros from Boca Juniors, Corinthians, Espanyol, Real Sociedad and Barca themselves.
"That victory was a point of inflection," former Barca president Agusti Montal said of the 5-0 success.
And Barca legend Carles Rexach, who played the 90 minutes, added: "It was special. It was like banging our fists on the table. After the fifth goal, the Bernabeu went silent."
