The 32-year-old's contract runs out in June, after which he plans on leaving the club, but reports have suggested the Blaugrana had made a last-ditch effort to change his mindBarcelona have hit back at reports the club have offered goalkeeper Victor Valdes a new contract.
Last season the Spain goalkeeper announced his decision to leave the Blaugrana when his current deal expires at the end of the campaign.
But Radio Marca claimed the reigning Liga champions had attempted to change the 32-year-old's mind one last time.
A statement from club sources said: “FC Barcelona categorically denies the information released this afternoon by Radio Marca in relation to a new contract offer for Victor Valdes.
“The club respects the decision taken by the player. We would like to show its gratitude, once again, for the commitment and professionalism he shows day in, day out.”
Barcelona have recently been linked with a host of potential replacements, including Borussia Monchengladbach's Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
