The Spain Under-21 international is pleased with his development at the Liga leaders and is hopeful of getting even more playing time this seasonSergi Roberto has voiced his delight with the amount of playing time he has been getting under Gerardo Martino and is optimistic about his chances of succeeding at Barcelona.
The 21-year-old was promoted to the first team ahead of the 2013-14 campaign and the departure of Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window further boosted his chances of getting regular first-team action.
The midfielder has so far made 11 appearances in all competitions and he admits he is delighted with his progress under Martino.
"I've been playing more this month and that's great. Little by little I've gained the confidence of the coach," Sergi Roberto was quoted as saying on the official Barca website.
"It's an honour when the coach is speaking well of you. I have to keep working and take advantage of my opportunities."
Sergi Roberto has a contract with Barcelona until June 2015.
