The Brazilian has wished his injured team-mate a speedy recovery and says playing alongside the likes of Andres Iniesta and Xavi is hard to believe
The Argentine is expected to miss the remainder of 2013 with a hamstring tear he suffered earlier in November and his Brazilian team-mate, who joined from Santos in the summer, hopes he can return to action for the Catalans as soon as possible.
"For our team, it is sad because Leo is one of our cornerstones," the 21-year-year-old told Mexican television outlet DeporTV. "We know that at any time he can set a match in our favour.
"I hope he gets back on his feet as quickly as possible so he can help us on his return."
Neymar, who cost the Camp Nou club €57 million, also reiterated that he is living his childhood dream by playing with the likes of Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi.
"I was always a fan of Barcelona's football since the days of Ronaldinho and now I'm accompanied here by the likes of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta," the Brazil international continued.
"For me it has always been a dream to play alongside these stars. To train and live with Leo, Xavi and Iniesta for me is a dream and seems like something from another world."
Neymar featured in Barca's first defeat of the campaign at Ajax - winning the penalty which Xavi scored en route to the Dutch side's 2-1 Champions League victory - which was also his first experience of losing in a Blaugrana shirt.
