The Argentine has expressed his delight that the Yellow Submarine are back in the top flight, while at the same time revealing that Diego Costa is a doubt for the gameAtletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone insists that he is looking forward to facing high-flying Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday.
The Yellow Submarine have made a fine start to life back in the Primera Division and currently sit fourth ahead of the visit of the third-placed Rojiblancos.
Simeone is delighted that Villarreal are back where he believes they belong and is looking forward to the challenge of trying to mastermind a victory at the Madrigal
"I'm glad they’re back in the first division,” the Argentine told a press conference. “They are a club I’ve followed a lot in the last decade.
"They have done well and they have recovered quickly [from relegation] - it speaks highly of the club's leaders.”
Simeone then commented on the possible absence of in-form striker Diego Costa, who was laid low by the flu earlier in the week.
“Diego is better, but we will wait to see how he feels tomorrow [Sunday] and from there take a decision," the former Atletico midfielder explained.
Atletico's clash with Villarreal is scheduled to get under way at 19:00CET.
