The Spain star has responded to complaints by Madrid players about an unawarded penalty for Cristiano Ronaldo in Saturday's ClasicoBarcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas says his side should have been given a penalty against Real Madrid after he was felled by Pepe during the match.
Thanks to goals by Neymar and Alexis Sanchez, the Blaugrana beat their arch-rivals 2-1 on Saturday to extend the gap between them in La Liga to six points.
And after the match, Sergio Ramos had voiced his dismay over an ungiven spot kick when he claimed Javier Mascherano fouled Cristiano Ronaldo shortly after the opener.
However, Fabregas feels the complaint by the defender is nothing more than an excuse for the lost match and pointed out a similar incident with him and Pepe which occurred during the encounter.
"They lost and are looking for an excuse," the 26-year-old was quoted as saying by Marca.
"I should have had a penalty. Pepe took my legs away, but it was not awarded".
Table-toppers Barcelona have put daylight between themselves and the Blancos, though Atletico Madrid - who sit second - can reduce the deficit behind the leaders to a point with a win over Betis on Sunday.
