Barcelona to unveil Vilanova mosaic for Clasico

The Blaugrana will honour their former coach, who had to step down due to his battle with cancer, when they host Real Madrid on Saturday
Barcelona are to reveal a mosaic in honour of former coach Tito Vilanova when they take on Real Madrid at Camp Nou on Saturday.

The 45-year-old worked as Pep Guardiola's assistant for four years before taking charge of the team in his own right when the former midfielder left the club in 2012.

However, his time filling both roles was blighted by his battle with cancer, and he was forced to step down from the Catalans' hot seat during the summer, to be replaced by Tata Martino.

The mosaic will read 'Forca Tito', Catalan for 'Strength Tito', and is made up of 98,000 pieces comprising of Blaugrana colours and the colours of the flag of Catalunya.

Vilanova led Bara to the Liga title with a joint-record 100-point tally last term, but assistant Jordi Roura was forced to take charge of the team when he was in New York receiving treatment for his illness.
