The Italian is hopeful his side will continue to display the same resilience which saw them overcome a battling Malaga 2-0 on Saturday

Carlo Ancelotti has underlined the attitude of his Real Madrid players as the main highlight from their victory over Malaga at Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Merengues took the lead when Angel Di Maria's cross evaded everyone to find the back of net on 46 minutes, while Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the 2-0 win with a stoppage-time penalty when Gareth Bale was adjudged to have been fouled by Weligton.

Ancelotti was thrilled with the win, which saw Madrid close the gap to Barcelona at the top to just three points, and is hopeful his side will continue to display the same qualities against Juventus in midweek and in next weekend's Clasico.

"I enjoyed the game and liked the attitude of the players," the 54-year-old told journalists in a post-match press conference.

"We defended more aggressively and we had a lot of chances. I expect the same in the coming games. We've been more focused and seek to recover the ball quickly. We pressed well and the team showed a lot of composure."

The defeat of los Boquerones means Madrid have now won all three of their games in October and Ancelotti was keen to praise the team for that feat, giving special attention to Asier Illarramendi, Alvaro Morata and Daniel Carvajal.

"Illarra defensively was good though he needs to improve on his passing," the former Milan and Chelsea coach added.

"Morata and Carvajal also played well. I don't know if they'll keep it up but their physical condition is good."

Madrid go into next week's Clasico at Camp Nou third in La Liga with 22 points, while Barcelona lead the way on 25.
