Despite doubts over his match fitness, the world's most-expensive player has been handed a place on the right flank against Villarreal

Gareth Bale will make his Real Madrid debut from the start as Carlo Ancelotti's side face Villarreal in La Liga.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Spanish club from Tottenham in a world-record £86 million deal in the summer transfer window, has trained with Madrid since Wednesday amid doubts over his match fitness.

Bale made an appearance as a second-half substitute in Wales' World Cup qualifier against Serbia on Tuesday and after the 3-0 defeat, Chris Coleman believed that the midfielder's lack of pre-season matches may restrict his early career at Madrid.

Bale is expected to start on the right wing with Isco supporting Karim Benzema in the middle and Cristiano Ronaldo on the left flank.
