Napoli and Inter have both expressed an interest in signing Martin Montoya this summer but Barcelona have made it clear the player is not for sale, according to his agent.
Josep Maria Orobitg, who represents the Camp Nou defender, says the Serie A duo did make an enquiry but were swiftly informed there would be no chance of a deal.
Montoya will also continue discussions over a new contract with Barca in the near future, with his current deal expiring at the end of the current season.
“Inter and Napoli have asked about my client but Barcelona have been clear from the start that the player is not for sale,” Orobitg said to calciomercato.
“In the coming weeks we will continue to talk about a contract renewal. You never use the word ‘impossible’ in football, but Martin is unlikely to leave.”
Montoya was a key performer for Spain Under-21s this summer as they successfully retained their European title in Israel.
