'De Gea's the best goalkeeper in the world' - Chicharito

The Mexico international believes that his fellow Red Devil compares favourably to the likes of Iker Casillas and Gianluigi Buffon
Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez believes that team-mate David de Gea is "the best goalkeeper in the world".

The Mexican had claimed in February that the Spaniard would be the No.1 in his position within a couple of years but now feels that his prediction has already come true.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form in 2013, steering his club to the Premier League title before also playing a crucial part in Spain's successful defence of the Under-21s European Championship in Israel.

"For me he's the best goalkeeper in the world," Chicharito told the club's official website.

"We all talk about development and having to go down a certain career path and, of course, at his age many people would have been scared to give him the place he's earned for himself.

"But I think that this season he has really benefited from being given the opportunity to play on a regular basis.

"He was first choice between the sticks and I think that any player in the world shows his true ability when he has the chance to get a decent run of games in the side and David has really shown his quality.

"He was voted best goalkeeper in the Premier League, so I would say he is doing very nicely."
