'It hurts when people question my professionalism' - Dani Alves

The Brazilian wing-back believes he did not deserve the criticism for his supposedly poor form as the statistics show that he has had a good season so far
Barcelona defender Dani Alves defended his form this season, insisting that he always gives his all for the club.

The Brazil international was criticised in the opening months of the 2012-13 campaign after a number of tepid performances, but the former Sevilla man has stressed his displays has been similar to those of previous seasons.

"I always give my all on the pitch. It hurts when people question my professionalism and my attitude," the wing-back told France Football.

"They said I was not my usual self. That's apparently the way things go, one day you're the best, and the next day you're a nobody.

"If you just look at the statistics, my performances have been pretty similar to that of my best years at the club.

"We'll see at the end of the season whether I've had a good year. Personally, I think it will be a good season, and it could even be great if we win titles."

The 29-year-old has made 38 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona this term, netting once in the process.
