Barcelona's stand-in coach has heaped praise on the Chilean winger, amid interest from Juventus and following criticism of his recent performances for the Blaugrana

Barcelona's stand-in coach Jordi Roura has endorsed Alexis Sanchez's claims that he is "a great player", amid recent criticism of the winger and rumours of a summer exit.

The Chilean hit back at his critics recently, who have been unimpressed with his displays at Camp Nou.

“I know the player I am, I know I am a great player, I know I can win games for you," Sanchez said.

Upon hearing the midfielder's quotes, Roura was quick to give his player a vote of confidence.

"I like what he said. It's nice to see him in high spirits. He is a great player," he told reporters.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Barcelona, and Goal.com exclusively revealed his agent will travel to Italy to meet with Juventus and Inter over a possible transfer in the summer.

Sanchez signed for Barcelona in the summer of 2011, and while many expected him to be a star at Camp Nou, he has struggled to cement a first-team place ahead of the likes of Pedro and David Villa.

He has scored 20 goals in 75 appearances for the Catalan giants, and has found the back of the net 14 times in 52 appearances for Chile.
