Del Nido: Emery should have picked me
The president of the Liga club joked that the coach of the side could have picked him for the crucial upcoming cup game and that his starting striker is better than Falcao
Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido has joked that he would like to have played against Atletico Madrid in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final.
The first leg finished 2-1 to Atleti but with the second leg being played at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Sevilla have the home advantage.
“I'm just a bit angry that Emery hasn't included me in his squad list. I would line up myself against Diego Costa if I was allowed to play,” he told Cadena Cope.
Del Nido went on to say that while Atletico Madrid have impressive players, his own side more than matched their opposition.
“I'm afraid of Falcao and Diego Costa. Falcao is the best number nine in the world.
"I would have liked it if Diego Costa played for my team, but [Alvaro] Negredo is better than both of them. Negredo is the best player in the world.”
