Sunken Adan must leave Real Madrid, says father
The dad of the Blancos goalkeeper has revealed the situation at the Santiago Bernabeu is beyond repair and accuses coach Jose Mourinho of showing his son a lack of respect
The father of Antonio Adan has admitted the Real Madrid goalkeeper is "sinking" and must leave the Santiago Bernabeu when the opportunity arises. The 25-year-old surprisingly displaced Iker Casillas on "technical" grounds in the Blancos' 3-2 Liga defeat to Malaga on December 22 and was expected to cover the Spain No.1 while he stepped up his recovery from a broken thumb.
However, Madrid boss Jose Mourinho elected to bring back former shot-stopper Diego Lopez in January, and Adan's dad Enrique has slammed the Portuguese's treatment of his son and believes their time is up in the Spanish capital.
"I don't know why this has happened but the situation is fatal. I talk a lot with him and he is very concerned, we are sinking," Adan Sr. told Radio Catalunya.
"He is very sad and dull. It is clear he has to go, he has to see out the next three months and then look at what options present themselves.
"I am hurt, everyone in the family is very angry with Mourinho. [My son] has to leave because he should be playing now."
