The Liga champions currently sit third in the table, 16 points behind leaders Barcelona, and some critics have doubted the former Chelsea boss's approach in coaching los Blancos.
"[When managing a team], several factors must be taken into account, such as character and personality. I’m a more relaxed person [than Mourinho]," the 62-year-old told Marca.
But Del Bosque then went on to praise the accomplishments of both Real and Barca, adding: "We’re talking about the best club in the 20th century and one of the best nowadays.
"It’s a solid and extraordinary club.
"The team, along with Barcelona, has maintained an incredibly high level of performance, and gives us all some great football to enjoy."
