Sevilla president admits €42m unpaid wage bill

The Rojiblancos have revealed that 11 players are owed salaries and will be paid in €3 million chunks, but the hierarchy have dismissed the prospect of a ban from Uefa competitions
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has been forced to admit that several of the club's players will have to wait to be paid the millions of Euros they are owed in unpaid wages.
The announcement comes just months after Liga counterparts Malaga received a one-year ban from competing in Europe after non-payment of salaries.
The Andalusian club supremo says he has spoken to the footballers who are due parts of their wages, and concedes the deficit will only be cleared in gradual installments.
"I met with 11 players whose payments have been delayed,” Del Nido told reporters.
“The €42m worth of salaries will be paid, but only in €3m chunks."
Del Nido is adamant the matter will be resolved without incurring any punishment from Uefa.
He added: “The danger of falling out of Europe by default is zero per cent,”
