Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso insists there is still something "special" about Jose Mourinho.
The former Inter boss has been under pressure in the Spanish capital all season as his team have gradually seen their hopes of back-to-back Liga titles slip away from their grasp.Matters off the field have not helped either with constant speculation of internal arguments from within the Madrid camp, centred around Mourinho, but Alonso is adamant the coach still has the backing from his players.
"Yes, absolutely," he replied, when asked if Mourinho was still special.
"You see that Jose has something different. The way that he communicates with the players, it's different. The way he empathises with the players as well is different.
"That is why you want to be behind him, why you want to play and fight for him on the pitch. The players believe in him."
Alonso and Real Madrid are currently preparing for their home clash against Sevilla on Saturday before welcoming Manchester United to the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday.

I've been Livio Caferoglu on a night in which Chelsea have been crowned European title victors for a successive campaign, and it's good night to you all. Ciao!
More Benfica reaction now - this is what midfielder Nemanja Matic told reporters after the Eagles crashed to a heartbreaking 92nd-minute defeat at the Amsterdam ArenA earlier this evening:
"We played a good game. We played very well, we had more possession and played dangerously in Chelsea's box, but we lacked luck in the end. I can only congratulate Chelsea for the victory, but we didn't lack quality. I still think we played well, we were the best team. We had more control and opportunities to score, but had no luck. The best team doesn't always win."
