Valencia foward Nelson Valdez is confident that his team can beat Deportivo when the two meet in Spain's La Liga on Saturday.
Los Che suffered a humiliating 5-0 loss at home to Real Madrid last weekend and Ernesto Valverde's side will be looking for a return to winning ways when they take the field against a struggling Deportivo outfit.
And Valdez feels that Valencia have the ability to collect all three points as he believes they are the better of the two sides.
“With all due respect for Deportivo La Coruna, I believe that my team is better than them, but we must prove this,” the 29-year-old told reporters.
“We are the favourites on Saturday, but we must show why. We cannot make excuses for the cold or the heat or the coach or anything else.
“I am prepared to play every game and play when I play,” continued Valdez, who deputised last night for the injured Roberto Soldado.
“After yesterday’s game, we can look at ourselves in the mirror once more, because we approached that like a final and I think the fans understood this and thanked us.
“In football you can be criticised for the technical quality and the lack of goals, but never the attitude delivered.”
Valdez, currently on loan from Rubin Kazan, has started just three matches this season but could start on Saturday if Roberto Soldado does not recover from his injury in time.
