Valencia striker Roberto Soldado is confident that team-mate Fernando Gago will continue with the Spanish outfit amid rumours that he may leave.
Gago, who has been recently sidelined with injury, has been linked with a move to his former side Boca Juniors but Soldado believes his team-mate will continue to ply his trade in Spain."I think Gago will stay,” he told AS.
"He is doing things well in order to recover and bring to the team all that he can. This is what is most important to him, I am sure of it.
"He continues to have a problem with his abductor but he is doing what he can to be with us as soon as possible."
The Valencian native also spoke of his side's first match of the year away to Granada this Saturday and their upcoming return leg against Osasuna in the Copa del Rey, two games in which he is hoping for positive results.
“Every game from now on is going to be increasingly important,” he added.
“The game against Granada is fundamental for us. We want another away win, but to do that we will have to play with the same confidence we are showing during training.
"It will be a good month for us with many games. The players want to compete and this month we hope that it will be intense but above all else we want to try and win every game and get the results we hope for."
