Busquets: Barcelona cannot relax yet

The holding midfielder has urged his team-mates to keep their feet on the ground, while also taking the time to praise Lionel Messi following his good run of form this year

Sergio Busquets has insisted that Barcelona cannot afford to lose focus if they are to claim the Primera Division title this term as the season is still far from over.

The Catalans went six points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid following the 5-1 win over Athletic Bilbao, while they hold an 11-point lead over arch-rivals Real Madrid, but Busquets feels the title race is not decided just yet.

"There’s a long way to go in the league and we can’t relax," he was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"I’m really happy to have made the best ever start to a league campaign. Let’s keep on winning. The important thing is that we have won nearly all our games in all competitions."

Busquets then went on to praise team-mate Lionel Messi, voicing his opinion that the Argentine is the best player in the world.

"He’s the best in the world. He scores goals and takes part in all the attacking moves," he stated.

Messi netted twice on Saturday to take his tally this season to 21 goals in 14 Liga appearances.
