The Spain international is slowly nearing top form again after a lengthy injury lay-off, and is pleased with the way he has been performing so far this termBarcelona attacker David Villa says that he is nearly back to full match fitness again after spending the second half of the 2011-12 campaign on the sidelines due to a fractured leg.
The Spain international impressed in the Catalans' 3-1 La Liga win over Celta Vigo at the weekend and has now scored in three consecutive games, much to his delight.
"I've spent a lot of time training with the team, I started on the first day of the pre-season, and little by little I’ve got into the rhythm of the competition," Villa told Barca TV.
"I’ve started three games in a row and that makes me happy. I don’t think I’m too far off from being able to play the full 90 minutes.
"As a forward, goals are important on an individual level, but they also help the team."
The 30-year-old attacker has netted five goals in eight La Liga appearances so far this term.
