The Argentine is refusing to be disappointed with his side's draw against the minnows in Wednesday's Copa del Rey clash due to the nature of their current formAthletic Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa is not overly disappointed with his side's goalless draw against Eibar in the Copa del Rey, despite the San Mames outfit claiming just one win in their last 10 matches.
The Basques have suffered a slow start to the season, and the Basques currently sit in 16th place in La Liga, but the Argentine is adamant that he can draw positives.
"Overall, the draw is fine because the first half we suffered from their attacks and could not avoid being dominated by them, but in the second we had more possession," he told reporters after the match.
"In addition, in the first half they showed there was no difference in level between the two teams. We were getting worse as the play went on and we ended up playing badly and deserved to fall behind, even if the opponent did not score.
"But, we played better in the second half and deserved a goal ourselves. With our form in mind, strangely I cannot feel disappointed with a draw. It is difficult to accept, but the first step in any operation is to act with humility and we are required to accept the negative situation as it is.
"It may sound exaggerated to be not particularly disappointed with this result, but it would be arrogant to admit otherwise after the first half we produced."
The match also saw striker Fernando Llorente make his first start of the season after a number of rumours regarding his future, but Bielsa feels the conditions did not suit the Spain international's natural game.
"The game did not accommodate Llorente, as the field was heavy and with few passes went to him."
