The 25-year-old had reportedly pushed Marambio out of the way after refusing to answer questions about his behaviour off the pitch, prompting the journalist to file a complaint against the midfielder.
Nevertheless, the authorities have deemed the journalist's complaint invalid as she did not suffer any form of injuries, and Medel will not be charged.
"Medel remains free after an investigator ascertained that journalist Natalia Marambio, of a showbiz television programme, did not suffer any form of injury, as she had claimed," a Chilean police spokesperson told Spanish news agency EFE.
Medel has made six La Liga appearances for Sevilla this season, and was recently dismissed in his side's loss against Barcelona.
