The 32-year-old spoke positively about Los Rojiblancos' boss, and said that he enjoys a good relationship with the former Argentina international
The Turkey international, who moved to the Vicente Calderon this summer from Fenerbahce, has said that he "maintains a good relationship" with the tactician, whilst also commenting on the side's 1-0 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday.
"It was a tough match, but we were dominating them every second. We won the first two games of the Europa League and that's critical," the 32-year-old was quoted as saying by AS.
"I am very happy with the explanations that Simeone [provides]. The coach is very important for the club and for world football. We have a good relationship.
"[We] talked before the game and knew what he wanted. I am very happy to be at Atletico. I'm calm and have been working well from the first day I came to this team.
"I'm a professional and since I was 27 or 28 years old, I have paid much more attention to my health and my physical [well-being] and so I feel good. The most important thing is that the team is good.
"Simeone believes in the talent of each player and it is important that we maintain a good relationship."
Los Colchoneros resume their La Liga campaign against Malaga on Sunday. Kick-off is at 21:30CET.
