The Cameroon international joined the Blaugrana from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and Munoz has little doubt that the powerful midfielder will be a success at the Camp Nou side.
"Song is a great signing for Barcelona. He will be very helpful this season," Munoz told La Xarxa.
"He's not like Busquets. He is a different kind of player. He's a very strong and physical player who tries to keep things simple.
"He can set up players like Cesc, Xavi and Iniesta. He is compatible with these players."
Munoz made over 200 league appearances for Barcelona between 1981 and 1988.
