The 29-year-old midfielder was full of praise for the Colombian striker and the rest of his team-mates after the club's 4-1 victory over the BluesAtletico Madrid captain Gabi saluted the efforts of Falcao after his hat-trick saw Los Rojiblancos lift the Super Cup with a 4-1 win over Chelsea on Friday night.
The midfield hardman sent the Colombian on the way to his first-half treble against Roberto Di Matteo's men.
"We knew we had a great group who could count on the services of a great player capable of making a difference, and tonight, he did it again," he praised.
Gabi went on to issue a call for his team-mates to build upon their European success, encouraging them to recognise their true worth as the season progressed.
"The team put in a tremendous effort against a huge rival [Chelsea]," he continued.
"We deserved our victory, and have come full circle with it."
"With each game, this team has to do it's utmost to be amongst the best."
