Vilanova believes touchline ban sets 'example' for other coaches

The Blaugrana boss will not be permitted to take place in the dugout when his side meet Valencia on Sunday, a fixture he is confident of winning after their Supercopa heartbreak

Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has expressed his dissatisfaction with his two-match suspension, which will begin with his side's upcoming home clash against Valencia.

The former assistant was sent to the stands during the Catalan giants' narrow win over Osasuna last weekend, and has since been sanctioned by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

"Not physically being on the bench is not so much a practical discomfort, but you can give some instruction to the players," Vilanova stated at a press conference.

"I've been warned and I guess I'm an example [to other coaches]."

Nonetheless, the Bellcaire native is optimistic of his team's success despite his absence on the pitch, but took the time to compliment the side which held reigning champions Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw on the opening day of the season.

"It's an important game, and we should try to go to the [international] break with nine points."

"Valencia's player have changed, but they have players that move into space well," he concluded.
