Valencia make Cissokho signing priority - report
Los Che are in the hunt for a new left-back following Jordi Alba's departure to Barcelona and the collapse of Didac Vila's transfer, and have set their sights on the Frenchman
Valencia have made the signing of Olympique Lyonnais full-back Aly Cissokho a priority, reports Superdeporte. The Liga giants permitted the sale of Jordi Alba to Barcelona earlier in the summer, having come to the fore with Spain at Euro 2012, and appeared to have found a replacement in Didac Vila.
However, the AC Milan defender failed a medical, forcing Los Che to look elsewhere for reinforcements, and they are now contemplating the possibility of landing the France international.
Cissokho, formerly of Gueugnon, Vitoria Setubal and Porto, joined Lyon in 2009, but has been continually linked with a departure from the Ligue 1 club, who need to sell before they can buy new players.
The Spanish side are ready to table an offer of €5 million for Cissokho, but it remains to be seen whether Lyon will stand firm over their valuation of €11m, set by president Jean-Michel Aulas.
