Signed from Udinese is a deal worth up to €37.5 million in 2011, the Chilean's debut campaign was plagued by lengthy spells on the injury table as Barcelona were pipped to the Liga title by arch-rivals Real Madrid.
After taking time to come to terms with the causes of his injuries, the 25-year-old is optimistic he can go one better than the 15 goals he managed in 25 appearances last season, as he now prepares for the new campaign under new coach Tito Vilanova.
"Thanks to all those who worked with me, I now know my body better," Sanchez told El Mundo Deportivo.
"This year, I hope not to get hurt so often and so give better performances. I hope to be more regular and consistent."
Goal.com exclusively reported that the Blaugrana turned down an approach for Sanchez from AC Milan as the Rossoneri search for a high-profile replacement to plug the hole left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departure for PSG.
Sanchez started in Barcelona's 2-1 friendly win over Bundesliga side Hamburg on Tuesday evening.
