Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero has revealed his hope that the winner of the Ballon D'Or comes from a member of the Spanish champions.
The 25-year-old praised the Merengues' success this campaign, and insisted that more is yet to come from Jose Mourinho's men, who are the team to beat in 2012-13.
"The title we achieved will be [hard to beat] for a long time. We made a record of almost insurmountable points and goals." the midfielder said in a press conference.
"Real Madrid is the team to beat and will be for many years. Last season was flawless. Real Madrid were far superior to the others breaking all records. I just hope that the Ballon D'Or [would be] for one of our players,"
Granero also spoke of his hopes for the upcoming campaign, after turning out 28 times for the La Liga champions last season.
He continued: "I face the season with many enthusiasm, eager to learn. We have many challenges to a collective level, mainly to overcome what was achieved last year. [To] learn, grow as a player and settle at this club."
Granero is currently in pre-season training, as Mourinho's side prepare for the Super Cup double-header against Barcelona next month.
