Gago wants to win titles with Valencia

The Argentina international is thrilled to have linked up with Los Che and believes he may enjoy more success than he did last season at the Stadio Olimpico
Former Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago has declared that he is eager to win titles with Valencia.

The 26-year-old Argentine has signed a four-year deal with at Mestalla after spending the last season on loan at Roma, where he made 32 appearances in all competitions.

Gago expressed his delight at having finally found a new club after weeks of speculation about his future and is confident that he may claim silverware at Valencia.

"I have come with a clear goal," he told reporters. "I like to win titles and in all my career I have won titles, so I do not want this season to be like my last one, in which I did not win anything.

"It was a quick decision and I made it thinking about the city, which is amazing, and also about my family and sporting matters.

"A friend of mine told me great things about this club and I think it was the best decision. I really liked this club's project because they have very good players."

Valencia begin their Liga campaign with a trip to Gago's old club, Real Madrid, on August 18.
