Javi Martinez: I don't see myself playing for Barcelona

The Spain international has recently been linked with a move to the Catalans, but he feels a transfer to the Blaugrana is unlikely at this point
Javi Martinez has all but ruled out a move away from Athletic Bilbao this summer, as he doesn't see himself wearing the Barcelona jersey next season.

The Spain international has been linked with a move to the Blaugrana in the past few weeks, while also catching the attention of Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Nevertheless, the 23-year-old has stressed that he is happy to see out his current contract with the Basque side.

"I don't see myself playing for Barcelona. I am very happy at Athletic. I have a contract until 2016 and the truth is that I see myself at Athletic [until then]," he stated to Antena 3.

"I've read a lot of things in the newspapers, but not everything that's being said is true. If we were to believe all the rumours, I'd have signed for seven different teams already."

Martinez has made over 200 Primera Division appearances for Athletic since making his official debut in 2006-07.
