The defender, who recently signed a new five-year contract with the Europa League winners, insisted that he wants to win more silverware during his stay
Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis has reaffirmed his commitment to the club, saying that he hopes to be at Vicente Calderon for many years to come to fight for silverware. The Brazilian, who joined Los Colchoneros in 2010 from Deportivo La Coruna, recently signed a new five-year contract at Vicente Calderon, and says that he wants to remain at the club for the duration of the deal.
"It is an honour to play for a team as big as this. When I raised the possibility of extending my commitment [to the club], I did not think twice," the 26-year-old was quoted as saying by Marca.
"At Atletico I have felt the love of all, so I hope to be many years fighting for more titles here."
The defender also gave his view on the upcoming Uefa Super Cup against Champions League winners Chelsea in Monaco next month.
"[Chelsea] are the favourites because they won the Champions League, but we will go all out. Two years ago we won the title against Inter were also champions [of Europe]."
The Brazil international also revealed that he will vacate the number six jersey, instead taking up number three, vacated by former club captain Antonio Lopez who joined Mallorca.
