Cristiano Ronaldo: I want to win Real Madrid's 10th Champions League title
The Portugal international has set his sights on the ultimate prize for Los Blancos next season as he wants to help the club end their drought in Europe's glamour competition
Cristiano Ronaldo is confident that Real Madrid will win their 10th Champions League crown in the not too distant future. The Blancos missed out on European glory this term after being ousted by Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, but the Portugal international assured that his prime target in the coming seasons is to help Los Blancos lift the coveted trophy.
"My objective is to win Real Madrid’s tenth European Cup title. Everyone talks about the Champions League in Madrid and we players feel it is very important for the country and the people," Cristiano Ronaldo stated to reporters.
"We’ve been close this year and we need many things to succeed, such as luck and good teams in our group. The 10th trophy is coming next year or the next.
"People always focus on the Champions League because it is one of the best tournaments. I’m sure we’ll win it eventually."
Madrid last won the Champions League in 2001-02 when they beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 in the final.
Since March, Goal.com has been publishing exclusive extracts from Luca Caioli's new book, Ronaldo: The Obsession for Perfection. This Friday's excerpt looks at how Cristiano's goal saw Real Madrid beat Barcelona in last season Copa del Rey final. Don't miss it!
