Liverpool forward Luis Suarez is of the opinion that Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo should be awarded the next Ballon d'Or ahead Lionel Messi.
The Santiago Bernabeu attacker scored against every single La Liga club this season, and led Jose Mourinho’s men to the Primera Division title.
Suarez feels the Portugal international is currently the best player in the world, ahead of current Ballon d’Or holder Messi.
"Messi has scored an historic amount of goals, but I would give the Ballon d’Or to Cristiano Ronaldo for the year he has had and because he helped Madrid to win the league," Suarez told Marca.
The Uruguay international went on to state that he has had no contact from anyone from Barcelona or Real Madrid during his career over a possible move to Spain, and that he is happy at Liverpool.
"Being honest, I have never talked to anyone from Barca or Real Madrid. If the rumours are to be believed I would have already played for 20 teams.
"Liverpool have had a good season and we got to two cup finals. In the Premier League we did not finish as high as expected, but positive things have been taken.
"Liverpool is a 10/10 club for the support they give the players. I am very grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play in the Premiership," he concluded.
