Cristiano Ronaldo: I think I'm better than Messi at the moment
The Portugal international has stressed that he cannot be compared to the Barcelona star as they do different things, but feels he is the better player at this point

The Portugal international believes that both players do the best they can for their respective clubs, which allows them to push each other to new heights.
However, when pressed on the matter, the Portuguese attacker voiced his opinion that he is the better player of the two at this point.
"Sometimes it makes me tired. For him too because they compare us together all the time. You cannot compare a Ferrari with a Porsche because it's a different engine. You cannot compare them. He does the best things for Barcelona, I do the best things for Madrid, so everyone says," Cristiano Ronaldo stated to CNN World Sport.
"It's incredible. Just for him and for me because we beat our own record, so it's amazing. I think we push each other sometimes in the competition, this is why the competition is so high. This is why Madrid and Barcelona are the best teams in the world because everyone pushes each other.
"It's not about who is better. I just don't like to be compared with anybody. Some people say I'm better, other people say it's him, but at the end of the day, they're going to decide who is the best player at the moment, which I think is me."
Ronaldo netted 46 goals in La Liga this term, while Messi scored 50 in the Spanish top flight to claim the Pichichi.
Since March, Goal.com has been publishing exclusive extracts from Luca Caioli's new book, Ronaldo: The Obsession for Perfection. This Friday's excerpt looks at when Cristiano won the Ballon d'Or as a Manchester United player in 2008. Don't miss it!
