The Catalan side travel to the capital as they look to get back to winning ways after damaging results against Real Madrid and Chelsea

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has given a number of squad players the chance to impress as the Catalan side travel to Madrid to face Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

20-year-old defender Martin Montoya has been given the nod to start at right-back in what will be his fourth appearance in the Primera Division this season. Jose Pinto is given the nod in goal, with Victor Valdes being named a substitute.

The midfield trio of the visitors is made up of Seydou Keita, Thiago, and Sergio Busquets with Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas having to settle for a place on the bench. Xavi misses the match after picking up a calf problem.

Jose Ramon Sandoval has named a positive line-up for the visit of the Catalan side, with both Diego Costa and Raul Tamudo starting up front in a two-man strikeforce.

Mikel Labaka and Jose Manuel Casado are suspended for the match and their place in the Rayo defence has been taken by Alejandro Arribas and Jorge Pulido.
