thumbnail Hello,

The former Blancos midfielder believes that the Rojiblancos, who could still nick a place in next season's Champions League, have what it takes to trouble Jose Mourinho's men

Sevilla boss Michel is in an optimistic frame of mind ahead of Sunday's clash with Real Madrid, believing his side is capable of springing a surprise at the Santiago Bernabeu if they follow the example set by Bayern Munich in midweek.

The Bavarians fell two goals behind in the opening 14 minutes of their Champions League semi-final second-leg clash with Los Blancos but had the better of the game from there on and ultimately progressed to the tournament decider after beating their hosts in a penalty shoot-out.

Michel now believes that Bayern have shown every side in La Liga how best to play against the runaway leaders.

"On Wednesday we received an example," the former Madrid midfielder is quoted as saying by Marca.

"Bayern had command of the game, playing with possession and depth - that is the way to play Madrid.

"Like Bayern, we also have interesting players and we are in good condition. We can be one of those teams like Malaga, Sporting and Bayern, who have caused problems at the Bernabeu.

"I will not set any objective. All I am doing is thinking of the three points. We will not wait to see if Madrid make any mistakes because they don't usually."

Sevilla go into the game ninth in the standings but just six points behind fourth-placed Malaga in the pursuit of Champions League football.
