I do not know why Barcelona did not sack Guardiola, says Bernd Schuster

The coach believes that the Blaugrana trainer should have been sacked for his negative comments regarding their title push, just as he was fired in 2008 for making similar remarks
Former Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has sarcastically claimed Pep Guardiola should have been sacked for his comments on Barcelona's La Liga chances.

The 41-year-old coach said in March that it was 'impossible' for his side to catch Real Madrid given the eight-point difference between themselves and Los Blancos at the time.

Schuster believes that Guardiola should have been given his marching orders for his comments in an ironic reference to his own sacking by Madrid in 2008, when he stated that it was impossible for Los Blancos to defeat Barca at Camp Nou.

"I cannot understand why they did not sack Guardiola when he said that Barca could not win La Liga," Schuster told Radio Marca.

"Clubs normally do it."

Barcelona are currently four points shy of Madrid at the league's summit.
