The Argentina international appears to have finally shaken off a niggling thigh injury which had seen him miss over two months of action earlier in the year.
He came on as a substitute in the 5-1 and 5-2 victories over Osasuna and APOEL respectively, and turned in a great display against the Cypriots, scoring one goal and grabbing an assist.
It is believed that Di Maria has convinced Mourinho of his form and will be rewarded with a place in the starting line-up against Valencia at the weekend.
Xabi Alonso, Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema all return to the fold after being unused substitutes in the continental clash in midweek, while Alvaro Arbeloa is expected to feature as Sergio Ramos will miss the match due to suspension after reaching his yellow card limit.
Madrid are at the summit of the Liga table with 78 points from 30 matches, while Valencia lie in third position on 48 points.
