The towering defender could face a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knock in his side's victory over Massimiliano Allegri's men in Europe's elite competitionBarcelona coach Pep Guardiola has received some disturbing news from the treatment table in the aftermath of his side's 3-1 Champions League win over AC Milan on Tuesday evening as centre-half Gerard Pique has sustained a thigh injury and could be out of action for a while.
The defender was part of the Blaugrana's starting XI in the quarter-final encounter, but was forced to leave the pitch in the 75th minute due to a physical problem.
Pique's injury was examined by the club's medical staff after the game, and Barcelona have now confirmed on their official website that the player has sustained an injury on the bicep femoris of his left thigh.
It's not yet clear how long the 25-year-old will be unavailable due to the knock, but the defender could very well miss this weekend's La Liga match away against Zaragoza.
Barcelona beat AC Milan 3-1 on aggregate to book their ticket to the semi-finals of the Champions League against either Chelsea or Benfica.
