Dani Alves: Barcelona are benefiting from my off-field friendship with Messi
The Brazilian and the Argentine are friends and the full-back believes that has led to an almost telepathic understanding between the pair on the field of play

The Brazil international dovetails wonderfully well with the diminutive Argentine and the former Sevilla man believes that their almost telepathic understanding owes everything to the amount of time they spend together away from football.
"Since the first contact we had with one another, we have had a very good friendship," Alves told Globoesporte.
"This rapport has also produced results on the field of play. What we have done together has greatly helped our team.
"We have no need to even look up as we already know where one another are!
"But the most important thing is the kind of person he is. I've had the pleasure of meeting his family, which consists of humble, working-class people."
The 28-year-old full-back also insisted that the pair's friendship is not that unusual, even though they hail from countries that have been long-time adversaries on the football field.
"The Brazilians and the Argentines only have a rivalry when they're facing each other," he argued.
"Off the field, we are people who identify strongly with one another. What separates us is football.
"They have a hunger to win and we have that too. I would say this is the only downside to this good relationship that we have."
Barcelona will be hoping that the pair are once again on the same wavelength in Saturday's vital Primera Division clash with Athletic Bilbao at Camp Nou.
