Toulalan sustains broken metatarsal

The French midfielder is set for a spell on the sidelines after it was revealed that his foot injury is more serious than initially suspected
Malaga have announced on their official website that Jeremy Toulalan has sustained a metatarsal injury.

The France international picked up the problem in the 1-0 victory against Levante earlier in the month and was forced to sit out the 1-1 draw against Real Madrid on Sunday.

Further assessment of the injury has revealed that Toulalan fractured his metatarsal bone, with the club announcing that the 28-year-old will have to undergo surgery next week.

It is still unknown how long the player will be out for and Malaga have not commented on when he is expected to return.
