Keisuke Honda to miss CSKA Moscow's Real Madrid clash - report

The Japan international appeared to be winning his race to be fit for the game against Los Blancos but it is now being claimed that he will sit out the match at the Bernabeu
CSKA Moscow look set to be without Keisuke Honda for Wednesday night's Champions League last-16 second leg meeting with Real Madrid.

The Japan international has been struggling with a thigh problem of late but it had been thought that the highly-rated attacking midfielder would be fit to at least play some part in the game at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, reports emanating out of Spain suggest that Honda has lost his battle to be fit to face Los Blancos.

The 25-year-old's absence would represent a major blow for CSKA given that he made a big impact after coming on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Madrid at the Luzhniki Stadium three weeks ago.

Prior to his introduction in the game, Honda had been out of action since November with a recurring knee problem.
