The Spain international has expressed his joy of having the chance to feature alongside the 2011 Fifa Ballon d'Or winner after the forward's five-goal showing on WednesdayBarcelona attacker Pedro has taken the time to praise team-mate Lionel Messi in the aftermath of the Argentine's five goals in their 7-1 Champions League round of 16 second-leg win over Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday, with the Blaugrana winning 10-2 on aggregate.
Messi became the first player in history to score five time in a Champions League match, and Pedro has now stated that he feels honoured to partner the 24-year-old up front for the Catalan giants.
"It is a pleasure and an absolute privilege to play alongside him [Messi]," Pedro was quoted as saying by AS.
"He is a magnificent player and person and it's great to have him on our side. I was overjoyed with his goals and we're very happy with his excellent form."
Messi has now scored 49 Champions League goals. Only Thierry Henry (51), Ruud van Nistelrooy (54) and Raul (71) have scored more in European club football's elite competition.
