Real Madrid boycott Canal+ after sketch show involving Casillas doped up on drugs

The Spanish giants are not amused with the way the French television channel's portrayal of their World Cup-winning glovesman and captain in a sketch show
French television broadcaster Canal+ say they are being boycotted by Real Madrid because of a sketch show that portrayed several Spanish sports stars, including cyclist Alberto Contador, tennis star Rafael Nadal and Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas being doped up on drugs.

Reporters of the channel intended to interview Karim Benzema after Madrid's 1-1 Champions League round of 16 first-leg draw at CSKA Moscow on Tuesday, but the Blancos' press officer denied them access to the player.

"We were looking to get a reaction from Benzema after the match between CSKA and Madrid. Unfortunately our reporter was barred because of the 'Guignols de l'info' show," Canal+ presenter Nathalie Ianneta said.

A number of Spanish athletes have come under scrutiny in recent years for allegedly being involved with notorious sports doctor Eufemiano Fuentes.

However, there has never been any proof that there were footballers involved in 'Operacion Puerto' as well.
