thumbnail Hello,

The Spanish veteran has commited his future to the Mestalla club after weeks of negotiations regarding a new contract

Valencia have announced on their official website that David Albelda has agreed to a one-year extension with the club.

The 34-year-old had been locked in talks with Los Che for some time regarding an extension, as his previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season.

Albelda, who sat on the substitutes' bench in Thursday's 1-0 victory against Stoke City in the Europa League, broke into Valencia's first team in 1996.

He has helped the club win two La Liga titles, one Uefa Cup and one Uefa Super Cup, making over 500 appearances for the Mestalla outfit.
